Oversee our stewardship efforts
We are searching for people to join the Conservancy board who would enjoy rolling up their sleeves and getting outdoors once or twice a month and who could help guide our stewardship work—including coordinating volunteers restoring a native landscape, maintaining a modest network of trails, and planning future Conservancy projects. If this appeals to you or someone you know, please respond to this email. We would love to hear from you. Send us an email to info@claremontcanyon.org or call us at 510-843-2226.

Miner's lettuce, also known as Rooreh, is an annual herb native to a large area of Western North America, and can be seen growing in the Claremont Canyon. Starting in February to late May, miner’s lettuce is in full bloom with tiny white flowers. The rainy season has provided enough moisture to allow it to grow and spread vigorously. According toCalscape, "the presence of Rooreh is indicative of a healthy oak woodland" and we are excited to see this expansion, especially in recently restored oak woodland areas where we've led volunteer days!
