Conservancy volunteers and Cal students joined together on Berkeley Project Day to begin to connect the Willow Trail near Signpost 29 on Claremont Avenue with the lower Norfolk trail. That trail presently leads down from the end of Norfolk near Strathmoor in Gwin Canyon but deadends at the Park District/UC property line. We began installing steps and creek crossings. When finished the new trail extension will enable hikers to walk down from Gwin Canyon to Claremont Avenue and the other trails in the upper canyon. Join us at 10 at Signpost 29, 1.5 miles up Claremont from the intersection with Ashby Avenue. Thanks to our members for their support and thanks especially to Ann's Catering for providing lunches.
