The Conservancy's efforts to link the Willow Trail near Signpost 29 with the Lower Norfolk Trail is getting a big boost from Eagle Scout Troop 6 in Berkeley. Troop member David Hood has make this work his scout project and he and other members of the troop have begun their work. We deeply appreciate their efforts which will hasten the completion of the trail. Last month they constructed fascines with local materials which will be used to prevent soil erosion. This month the precise route of the trail will be flagged and removal of growth along the path will begin from where past efforts by Conservancy volunteers and Berkeley Day Cal students have left off. The goal will be to follow the contour of the hillside and avoid as much climbing up and down for future hikers. This also will make building and maintaining the trail a lot easier.
